Countries on the UK’s ‘No Travel’ list have been revealed – with the Foreign Office putting 29 on red alert. There are close to 200 countries and territories around the world, so there are plenty of destinations for UK tourists to avoid. The reasons for the Foreign Office warnings are anything from safety and security risk fears to wars and conflicts. There are the threat of terrorism and terror attacks in some locations, while in others, extreme weather poses a risk – from wildfires and tornadoes to tsunamis. The Foreign Office warns: “Get advice and warnings about travel abroad, including entry requirements, safety and security, health risks and legal differences.” Travelling against Foreign Office advice means any normal travel insurance will be immediately invalidated. The Foreign Office is advising against all travel to large parts of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, and plenty of other nations to boot.
